Our church, King's church in Selby, is a bible based lively church serving the town of Selby and the surrounding area, reaching people in different contexts with the Gospel. We warmly invite you to come along to our church which meets at 11:00am on New Lane, Selby, there is no dress code (although some clothes would be appreciated!) and you will certainly be made to feel very welcome. If you have children we offer a crèche and Sunday school groups for 0 - 11's. There is also a church youth group and the young people (12-18) alternate between going out to meet as a group or staying in the service. During the week we have cell groups - where smaller groups of individuals meet, coffee mornings, youth meetings (KCYO), 18-30's meetings, alpha groups, prayer meetings - we also have special events like Fun in the Park. King's church is part of the Newfrontiers family of churches, which is like a blend of Pentecostal and Evangelical. AMPLIFY On the 13th March 2010 Kings Church Selby are hosting an all day event called Amplify. The event starts at 11am and is for all young people from our church and many other churches to get together... In the afternoon the young people are going to go in to Selby town centre and will be performing tasks such as treasure hunting, busking, leafleting, serving teas and coffees in our church builing on New Lane in Selby. At 7pm there is going to be a talk - entitled tough talk - where bouncers, body builders and gangsters will be talking about their experience in life. If you just happen to be browsing our site you are welcome to come along during the afternoon session at 2:45pm to see what the young people are up to and have a cup of tea or coffee and also welcome to come along to the evenings 'Tough talk' at 7pm... |

We have a gentleman that comes along to our 'Cuppa and a Chat', which we hold every Wendnesday morning between 10 and 12pm - he wrote this poem for us which we would like to share with you: At Kings Church Selby just give us a call, For there you will find we welcome you all, There's tea and coffee and buscuits too, and that's not all they do for you. There's games of bingo and quizzes too, with prizes to win all for you, for the 65's and over there's soup and a roll, and you'll even get it in a bowl! So give it a try there isn't a catch, you'll enjoy all the fun there's nothing to match, It's all on a Wednesday around about ten, and there you'll be welcomed in our little den. So give us a call and come along and see, for there's no need to worry as everything's free!
